[A New Generation]
Hello to all, Let me introduce myself.
My name is Greg Layton. I was born again in the month of May, 1974 and May, 2014 (this year) marked my 40th year as a member of the body of Christ. My Lord and savior is Jesus Christ with whom I share the same Heavenly Father.
I live only for the Lord.
He is my King and my sole source of salvation.
(I just wanted to make this clear.)
I seek daily to understand and follow His
will.
Of course, I’ve messed up many times due to my ignorance as well as the
traps of the evil one. But Praise God, His grace is sufficient for me.
The name of this blog is 'Soar With The Eagle'.
Its
main purpose is to serve the Body of Christ. I have a passion for the truth and
for the welfare of all my brothers and sisters in Christ.
I have seen the truth
distorted and deception applied to the teachings of Jesus. I have seen many brothers and
sisters fail constantly due to improper teachings. The doctrines of men have
been used for their purpose only and not for the edification of the Body of
Christ.
It is my goal through this blog to help bring us all into a greater
understanding of what it really means to be a member of the Body of Christ and
how it really functions.
I have ears to
hear and will talk with any of you about anything and everything. If we don’t
know the answer we will pray together and ask the Father to reveal it to us.
If
you wish to post on this blog you certainly may.
One restriction only, you must
back it up with the word of God – The Holy Bible only.
A few weeks ago I came into a revelation of the Eagle
and how it applied in my life.
I will share this with all for one reason only ... Many things happen in the spiritual realm and I just wanted all to know that
your experiences in the spiritual realm have a meaning. By working together we
can try and understand what it means and grow together.
I wish to thank Tom & Ahava Fischer for their
guidance and prayers in the formation of this blog.
Thank you!
Lets begin ...
The
Eagle
The Eagle is one of the Lords creations that is
admired by all mankind. It is definitely one of the most noble of all the
animals in the Kingdom of God. Most of us have at one time or another wondered
what it would be like to fly. How cool would that be!
After some research in the word of God, I found
quite a few passages that refer to the Eagle. Even as I write this, the Holy
Spirit is blessing me with a deeper understanding of what the term to soar with the
Eagle really means.
Let me quote a few references from the word.
Deuteronomy – Chapter 32 – verse 11
The Eagle bears the young children on the strength of
his wings.
Job – Chapter 39 – verse 27
The Eagle soars – makes his nest in steep places.
He dwells and lodges on the rock.
Sustained by his prey.
His eyes behold afar off.
Where the slain are, there is he.
Jeremiah – Chapter 48 – verse 40
The Eagle is described as flying mightily.
Habakkuk – Chapter 1 – verse 8
The Eagle is swift.
Isaiah – Chapter 40 – verse 31
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their
strength;
they shall grow wings as an Eagle;
they shall run and not be weary;
and they shall walk and not faint.
Revelations – Chapter 12 – verse 14
The woman was given two wings of a great Eagle;
that
she might fly off from the presence of the serpent to the wilderness;
where she
would be nourished.
There are more verses in the word that mention the
Eagle. They mainly refer to the swiftness and quickness of the Eagle. These are
a few of the verses that struck a chord with me.
Now let’s try and see how the Eagle relates to us.
Deuteronomy -
I really believe the Eagle is a
symbol of the Holy Spirit. At first I perceived it as a symbol of the Lord
Jesus, but I am now led to believe that it represents the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit
carries us and sustains us in the Spiritual realm, does it not?
Job -
The Holy Spirit soars in the heavens and that is
where he makes his nest.
He
dwells and lodges on the rock –
We all know Jesus is the rock.
Sustained
by his prey –
His life is sustained by those he saves.
His eyes
behold afar off –
He sees all.
Where the slain are, there is he: He
rescues all who are slain, hopeless, depressed.
Jeremiah and Habakkuk -
Simple
enough, the Holy Spirit is mighty and swift.
Isaiah -
I believe this verse applies only to those who truly wait upon the Lord.
Notice the emphasis on the word wait; only then can you grow wings as an Eagle.
In order for the Father to do his will on Earth, we have to wait upon the Holy
Spirit to lead us and work thru us for our Father and Lords will to be done.
Revelations -
The woman was given the wings of an
Eagle to fly from the presence of the serpent; into the wilderness; where she
would be nourished for a period of time.
Does not the Holy Spirit carry us to
our own wilderness (sanctuary) to be nourished for a time?
Much like the Eagle, the Holy Spirit is powerful and
mighty.
He sees all and moves very quickly.
He fears nothing. He is also
graceful and noble.
The Eagle also teaches it's children how to fly by pushing
them out of their nest where they have been cozy and comfy during their early years.
Just before they hit the ground, he swoops in and scoops them up lest they hurt
themselves from the fall.
The Eagle does this over and over again until they begin to fly on their own. Eventually, they soar! How cool is that!

One other
thing, it is the Father Eagle that scoops them up, not the mother.
The first 20 years of my life as a member of the Body
of Christ were quite eventful. Lots of eating the word and growing. I can’t
count how many times the Father had to rescue me during this period of growth.
One night as I was falling asleep and meditating on
things of the Lord, I noticed that all of a sudden I was looking down at my
body lying in the bed.
I then started floating around the room and laughing and
tumbling. Then I looked at my door and saw an evil spirit trying to get into my
room. Needless to say, I became very frightened and asked the Lord to save me.
At that moment I was back in my body and woke up instantly.
I prayed and asked
the Lord to make sure that I would not see that evil spirit again. This
incident happened about six months or so into my first year of being a
Christian.
As time went on, my spirit began to leave my body on a
regular basis. I didn’t ask for this, it just happened. My spirit would leave
the house and fly up into the air.
Most of the time I was unstable and when I
would get near to crashing into the ground I would become fearful and wake up.
This went on for the first 20 years of my Christian life.
One day I was finally
able to soar without any fear.
I could go up and down and everywhere I wanted.
Just like an Eagle, as high and graceful as could be.
During my last flight, as I was soaring along and smiling, I just happened to look to my right and lo and behold there was an Eagle soaring right next to me. Needless to say I was in awe!

During my last flight, as I was soaring along and smiling, I just happened to look to my right and lo and behold there was an Eagle soaring right next to me. Needless to say I was in awe!
The Eagle then reached out with its mouth and latched onto my arm. No
pain.
I then thought, I wonder what that means?
I then thought, I wonder what that means?
I then woke up.
That was the
last time that my spirit left my body – 20 or so years ago.
Recently, I came to understand the meaning of the
Eagle latching onto me with his mouth.
The Eagle was assuring me that no matter what, I would
not have to be afraid again.
The Eagle will make sure that I can always soar in
the heavens and the Kingdom of God. I believe this revelation applies to the
spiritual realm.
The spiritual realm is not like the physical realm. Different
rules apply. If you do not know how to soar in the spiritual realm, you will
become confused and fearful.
I believe the Holy Spirit has trained me over the
last 40 years to do just that. I wish to help the Body of Christ become
healthy, that is my duty.
Luke: Chapter 11 – Verses 8 thru 10
Jesus said to his disciples –
I say to you also, Ask,
and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be
opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; knock,
and it shall be opened to you.
I pray that our Father and Lord will bless us as we
endeavor to understand the ways of the spiritual realm.
May we grow together
and lean to soar as the Eagle. Keeping a watchful eye over the things of God.
Remember, we have been told by Jesus that someday we will all be rulers of
other Kingdoms. How great is that!
Than you Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ!
This is my first post on this blog.
Please feel free
to ask questions.
The Holy Spirit will lead us as we go.
I have many
revelations to share with all members of the body.
I’m sure many of you have
revelations as well.
Let’s share and really learn together what it means to be
a member of the Body of Christ. Let us learn together how to love one another,
without discord, but in perfect harmony.
I believe with all my heart that each
member of the body of Christ is needed for the perfecting of the saints.
We all
have our special gift that has been assigned to us by the Head. Let’s discover
what that is so our Lord may present us to the Father without blemish.
Love,
Brother Greg
Great word brother.
ReplyDeleteThis really hit home with me because I had a experience with a golden eagle. I was under some very hard spiritual battles I thought I was going crazy. I was at a Sisters house and she and another sister prayed over me. As they prayed over me I felt a warm sensation going down my spine and across my shoulders like a cross. Afterwards out of the corner of my eye I saw a big wing through the window. And I saw a golden eagle perched on a stump. It had a half of a dead prey in one of it's tallons. It sat there looking at us (made eye contact with me) for about 4-5 minutes. I asked the Lord what it meant and I felt Him say "you will soar on wings like eagles".
